1890’s 2nd Bathroom Reno

1890’s Bathroom Reno

We’re on to the next bathroom in this gorgeous Victorian home. If you haven’t seen the first bathroom, check it out here. This bathroom was a challenging one. It was so small and oddly shaped. In the nook where the shower is now, there was a bathtub jetting out into the room. Can you believe they had a bathtub in there? It was only 24” wide. Your typical tub nowadays is a minimum 30” wide. It may not seem like much of a difference, but believe me, that extra 6” makes a big difference. Having a clawfoot tub in the upstairs bathroom, we opted to install a custom shower here to open up floor space; it was so crowded and cramped.

After we gutted it down to the studs, a lot plumbing needed to be moved around, a fan installed, new drywall, fixtures, vanity, toilet and paint…all it needs now is some finishing touches from the new homeowner.

Do you have a small bathroom? What changes did you make to create more space? I’d like to hear about it!
