Oh, Let’s be Adventurers Darling!

Happy smiling woman with curly hair lounging on couch.

Here we go!

We are the Keanes. Born and raised in Minnesota, we love all things outdoors! We have 4 spirited children who keep us on our feet. We enjoy camping, taking road trips, playing at the park, going on nature walks, and,,,working on houses, We’ve never done things the easy way. We like to challenge ourselves and keep busy, hence the 4 kids ;).

I made this gold foil picture for my husband, Nick, for our 10 year anniversary as we had just embarked on a new adventure. Some may call it crazy but we just call ourselves crazy. You see, we decided to sell our house so that we could buy and renovate other houses - flip houses. When we look at a house, we see its potential.  We want to bring life back into it and make it desirable again; to restore it’s dignity within the community. Here comes the crazy part…we have three girls and a boy and we were living in the houses while we renovated them!

In our first 13 years of marriage we moved 13 times, can you believe it?! A few years in, Nick quit his full-time teaching job to flip full-time. Now we are in our forever home and never want to leave it. Our flipping business has evolved into working with clients and helping them make their dreams spaces a reality.

Our business name, 246 Home, is based off the verse Acts 2:46 “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” Just like the early church gave us an example of gathering together in the home, we believe that every home should be filled with the warmth of love, joy, hope and faith. The home is a place of gatherings, a place of belonging, a place of hospitality, a place where we can find comfort and joy with those we share it with.

In this blog we will share our life with you…our house adventures, family adventures and a whole lot of life thrown in the mix. We hope you join us each week as we capture the thoughts and experiences of our 246 Home life!
